Christmas CD's

Don't forget my Pampered Chef and Heritage Makers Black Friday Sales.
Sales are good ALL DAY LONG!!!

This project was so much fun.  Well, at least the finished product.
I had 14 cds left.  I didn't realize there were still so many.  That meant I had enough for the projects I had in mind.  I pulled out some Christmas patterned scrapbook paper and traced the cd's onto the paper.  I did two circles for each cd so I could cover the back side.
My daughter is helping me trace.  She's a natural.
After tracing, you simply cut out.
I inked the edges with a dark red to match the paper and then modge podged my paper onto the cds.

Now for the next step, there are several ways you can do this.  I need to preface this by saying I do have a cricut machine.  However, it needs a new blade so I used my stencils, traced and cut.    Lucky for me, I had some sticker scrapbook paper.  That allowed me to skip the glueing on of the letters.  I just peeled the backing off and set it where I wanted it on the cd.

After putting on the first three letters, I decided I wanted to sand the letters, so I peeled them off and sanded.  Oops!  I modged podged over the top layer, punched a hole in the top and strung in some ribbon.

I had the perfect thing to hang my "CHRISTMAS" letters on.  When we bought our Rexburg house, there were a few things left in the shed.  This hanging rack was one of  the things left.  It didn't have a way to hang it, so I pulled out my tools and put on some hooks and used it as a coat rack.  Two moves later, there's no place to hang it for coats.  Now it's up and put to use.  I like the end result.  My first Christmas decoration for the season!  Very exciting.
