I am SO sick of being a renter.  I live in the middle of Wyoming.  You wanna know how much I pay for rent?!!  $1300.  You might think that's not bad.  It wouldn't be if I had something to answer for it.  I have no yard and no square footage.  Our unfinished basement and un-fenced "backyard" has what has kept me sane.

But the time has come to make a big change.  We need to get out of our rental and buy a home.  I am unhappy in this house.  I live in a crowded neighborhood.  I do not feel like I am home, yet this is where we have settled.  This is where I want to be happy.  But it is hard to be happy when I can't plant my roots.

We still own a home in Idaho and it has brought with it a lot of expense.  That means that there is not a lot of money saved up for a down payment for a new home and certainly not enough for any home renovations.  Every home we look at in our price range needs some TLC.  Let me show you what I mean:

This is our family favorite at the moment.  We love the floorplan in this house, but it lacks any character.  The bones are great, but it's a bit.....vaBlah!

I would LOVE for Mandi from Vintage Revivals to come and help make my new, though kinda old, house into a home.  Every thing Mandi touches turns to gold....or something equally dazzling.  I love her work and every time I see her work, I feel all giddy inside.

This Hair Cut is Dedicated to Tanner

Just a little over a month ago, we found out that my brother's youngest son has leukemia.  It was the shock of a lifetime.  He had been fighting fevers off and on for several months and was ordered to Primary Children's for blood test.  The amazing doctors immediately knew what was wrong and a blood transfusion was given that same day.  Tanner is a trooper and handling the treatments like a champ.

After a trip to Utah to visit family and seeing Tanner, Geneva decided to get a haircut.  Tanner, this is dedicated to you.  Love you, Buddy!

Chocolate Fondue Party

I love finding excuses to have people over to my house....and I love having the opportunity to use some of the things I have made.  I am always on the lookout for items I can remake.  I recently scored at a yard sale.

This was an easy project that would require very little of me.  So I got to work.

I laid out how I wanted my finished project to look like.

Then it was time for the spray paint.

The day of the party, I received the perfect package from bzzagent.com.  All I needed to do was try out the product and say what I though about it.  Easy!  It would work perfectly for my party!

It looks like the real deal--real silverware, real dinner plates...but it's PLASTIC!  That meant easy cleaning and disposable.  Seriously, take a look...

The little forks would be perfect for dipping the fruit in fondue!

Here's the spread.

Seriously!  Don't you love it.  It was so simple to set up and looked great on the table.  Such a fun party with out the fuss of cleaning up.  Just cause I'm that kind of friend, I gave each of my guest a coupon for Mozaik. This stuff is so great.  I'm thinking it might be perfect for all my parties.  Thanks bzzagent.com and Mozaik for letting me try these.  And thank you to the wonderful yard saler who sold these perfect dishes!

I received a product sample, coupon, collateral or other special premium from BzzAgent.

I'm Baaa-aaack!

I did it!  I survived my 19 credit semester.  You want to know the crazy thing?  I met a lot of other students with more credits than me.  Some crazy, single mother was currently taking 28 credits.  Is that even possible?!! Kuddos to that amazing woman.  I pulled off a 4.0, which I was very thrilled about.  I still remember the first day of classes and my professor asking our anxiety level.  Mine was SUPER high, not knowing what to expect.  We ate a lot of frozen pizzas and other quick meals, but the family toughed it out.  I've already started summer classes, but my consolation is that nothing will be as difficult as this past semester.  With that said, I am back to blogging.  I will probably start out slowly before diving back in.

Here's a project I made for my mother.  Keep in mind, it's not fantastically decorated, but it's an idea you can take and run with.  Make it your own.  Add as many or as little to it as you like.

My mom had told me that she would love something that had an updated list over everybody's birthday.  I had made her something several years before, and she had loved it.  To be honest, I think she was being kind and trying to give me a way that I wouldn't have to spend money on her for a gift.  And I must say, while the pressure can be higher with a handmade gift, I so prefer to give and receive these types of gifts.  They feel more meaningful to me.  BACK TO THE GIFT!

I went to my basement and found paper that would work for each of the 12 months.  Those would be the dividing pages.

I have an awesome munch I use for the tabs.  I just hand wrote each of the months.  It would be super cute stamped or printed out using fun fonts, but this is what I did.  I used several regular note cards and put about three behind each month.  then I cinched it.

Just think of how much cuter this would be with embellishments!

Could you humor me?  I'm curious to see if I still have any readers.  I would be SO appreciative if you could leave me a comment...even just saying you saw this post.  Thank you!

Pampered Chef New Product Giveaway

Did you know I'm a Pampered Chef consultant.  I first signed up when my almost 10-year-old was a baby.  As my life has changed, so has my Pampered Chef business.  I first signed up because my young family was getting ready to move  back to Utah.  We didn't have jobs waiting for us, but needed to get started on grad school.  There came a time while we were juggling the kids between each other as we tried working out a schedule with work and school and life.  I slowed down on my business during that time.  Now I'm a full-time student again and am working my business around my schedule.  The commission has been very helpful and I really love the incentives!  If you are at all interested in learning more about the Pampered Chef business and how it can work for you, I would love to help you.

But on to the giveaway!  I am offering a FREE new spring product.  I just came back from a conference in Denver and can't believe all the fun things.  So, in celebrating Pampered Chef, I am having a giveaway for the new....POTATO WEDGER!  I have been hoping Pampered Chef would make one and now they have.  Can you imagine cutting up some fries, sprinkling them with olive oil and seasoning and then dipping them in a variety of fry sauces!  Makes my mouth water.

Here's how you can  enter win:

1.  Be a follower of A Recovering Craft Hoarder
2.  Place a Pampered Chef order...
3.  Facebook about this giveaway.
4.  Book a catalog/internet party!  Do this and I'll throw in the wedger regardless as a, "Thank you!"

Added BONUS!!!  20% unglazed stoneware and metal bakeware.  PLUS a free Itty Bitty drink mix with $60 order--works with water, sparkling water as well as alcohol.  I'm not an alcohol drinker, so I made sure this was something I could use as well.

I will be posting my favorite Pampered Chef recipes Wednesday and Friday so stayed tune.
Giveaway ends February 29th.
