My New Shabby Apple Dress

When I found out I won a Shabby Apple dress from Random Thoughts of a Super Mom, my husband asked me what was wrong. I guess the screaming made him jump to some silly conclusion of spiders or mice or some such creature. Nope! I won a dress. I don't own dresses. I've got plenty of skirts, but didn't have a dress to add to the mix. So excited. Have you ever checked out Shappy Apple's dresses? They are amazing. And what makes them even better, they support microcredit loans. As soon as I saw that, I knew they were worth purchasing from. It's great to get something wonderful for free, but this was also a company I felt good about purchasing from and supporting.

Before you say anything, I already know that I am....well endowed.  I don't typically wear this style of dress.  What I did to try to offset my bust somewhat is added a necklace.  I struggled to find one that worked but in the last minutes found the perfect necklace, or at least the best option from what I had to choose from.  I figure there's nothing I can do about my chest (within my budget) so I need to just accept it.  I used this particular picture cause the other one....well, I'm an honest person.  I'll just show you and you'll know what I mean.

Any suggestions on what to do to maybe downplay some of my assets?

Congrats on winning the dress, I love it!! The colors look so good on you and the dress looks fabulous!! I have the same issue and sometimes all you can do is just accept it. I always laugh at girls that say they want to be bigger....
Let me know if you find a way downplay it.

Anyway, I want to thank you for that sweet comment today, it really meant a lot to me!

I love the dress...it looks super cute. Maybe a scarf or cardigan of some sort would help down-play certain assets, but I have the opposite problem and really have no idea :)

Pretty dress!! I think it looks great on you. It enhances the right spots and the skirt part is so pretty! The necklace looks good with it.

I like your assets just as they are. ;)

Ah! I'm soooo jealous. I found that company just last month and they have gorgeous dresses.
ALso, my husband informed me today that "that shirt looked better on you when you were nursing." Thanks dear. My "assets" have shrunk to pre-middle school size, so if we could just combine our assests, or lack thereof in my case....

As soon as I am done leaving a comment and telling you how beautiful you are I am going to go check out the dresses! What a beautiful dress for such a beautiful woman, mother, wife and friend! As for your "assets" I feel your pain.....I have the same problem. I found a great bra that work for a bit but it was very expensive and I don't have enough $ to get another one. So I am now following some very old and wise advice....."If you've got it flant it"!! (not really going to follow this, but i was trying to give ya something:) )

make the necklace shorter??? I have that problem and find that longer necklaces just make them a highlight.

I won this same dress and bought a cardigan-I have the opposite bust problem-so i dont' fill in the top enough and the darts kind of dimple inward-Target has a wonderful cardigan that goes perfectly with this dress-it's ivory with pearl like beads sown in and its elbo length-so it's really a light cardigan-i think it would help break up the solid color and create the illusion you want...and it goes perfect-gives a 50's type vintage look.

Lovely dress :) I have the same problem, and all I can offer for advice is try to accentuate a different part, for example, a cute belt or shoes, that will help the eyes focus on something else. Hope that helps!
